Jean-Luc Shimizu is from Houston, TX and is studying biological sciences in CAS as a part of the class of 2025. On campus, he is a wet lab co-lead for iGEM, a project team focusing on various applications of synthetic biology. He is also a part of Shimtah, a Korean drumming group. He also plays jazz trumpet as a part of jazz combos and other ensembles.
