Phyo is a member of BME M.Eng class of 2024 and his master's project focuses on the design and development of hypergravity centrifuge and animal habitat module for neurodegeneration. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He has a passion for teaching and served as a TA for the course Circuit, Signals, and Sensors: Instrumentation Laboratory during his time at Cornell. He also tutored in electrical technology class during his college studies. During his gap year, he worked as an electronic engineer for an endoscope manufacturer, where he developed training materials and work instructions for the assembly of colonoscopes and gastroscopes. He has also provided technical support and training for endoscope continuous improvement, new product introduction and test procedures to distributors and engineers in the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, he has experience with endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) systems. Originally from Myanmar (Burma), he has lived, studied, and worked in Singapore, Arizona and West Virginia. He enjoys taking road trips, swimming, and playing GTA as well as flight simulator.
