Baisampayan Moitra is a M. Eng. student in Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University graduating in 2024. He holds a B. Tech in Bioengineering from VIT Bhopal University. During his tenure as an intern at IIT Indore, Baisampayan Moitra made significant contributions to the field of cancer research. His primary focus was on the discovery of novel small molecules that inhibit the 67kDa Laminin receptor, a key target for lung cancer treatment. He also worked on riboswitch based drug design at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. Currently, he is developing a centrifuge system and mouse habitation module to generate artificial gravity for neurodegeneration studies in mice. Passionate about programming, neuroscience, and drug design, Baisampayan also enjoys video games and is a fan of Lord of the Rings.
